Krista VanCauwenberghe Bkin., RMT

Krista graduated from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba in 2016 and has been working in a clinic setting since. Prior to becoming a massage therapist, she attended the University of Manitoba and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology specializing in Athletic Therapy. After gaining some experience working with high level athletes, she found her passion was helping individuals in their health and wellness with massage therapy. She uses a variety of massage techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and cupping therapy. She enjoys working with all clients creating customized treatment plans specific to their bodies needs.

Krista grew up in a small town in Southwest Manitoba and grew up playing many sports, which lead her to pursuing a career in this field. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active by playing hockey, golf, slo-pitch, CrossFit, and hiking with her dog Parker.

Derek Elliott BMRPT

Derek was born and raised in southwest Manitoba. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy) in 2005. Derek has spent his entire career in private practice and has a special interest in sports rehabilitation. Derek has taken many post graduate courses including: kinesio taping, myofascial release, vestibular rehabilitation, McKenzie back therapy,  and acupuncture. Derek has spent his entire life playing hockey and continues to do so in the Tiger Hills Hockey League. Derek enjoys a very active lifestyle, including golf in the summer months and coaching his boys hockey teams in the winter.

 

Jennifer Elliott BMRPT

Jennifer was born and raised in southwest Manitoba. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy) in 2004. She practiced in Winnipeg before moving to Brandon to open Focus Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic with Derek. Jennifer has also spent time working at the BRHC in the inpatient orthopedics area. Jennifer has taken a multitude of post graduate courses, including acupuncture, kineso taping, Barnes myofascial release and TMJ training. Jennifer has a very special interest in myofascial release and sports injury rehabilitation.

Jennifer grew up participating in as many sports as she could. She was actively involved in fastball, badminton, volleyball, track and field and figure skating. Jennifer has always had a love for hockey and spent many years working as a trainer. Jenn now hopes to pass on her love for sport and exercise to her three young sons. She feels physical activity is a critical part of a healthy life, and hopes she can help others learn this through example. Jenn’s favorite hobbies are running, and watching her boys play their sports.
